To spam or no to spam

Spam. We all hate it. We all try various methods to get rid of it. But hold your horses, coz what i’m going to tell you here can turn you into a spammer. So be very careful.
For (unknown) bloggers promotion is a must. Self promotion is in most cases the way to do it. Why? Because it’s free. And besides that it works great. Self promotion is done using various methods: posting on forums, leaving comments on different sites, using email to promote your products and posting on social bookmarking sites.
1. Forums. Things are pretty obvious here. No need to explain further.
2. Comments. Also obvious here.
But the reach of using forums and comments is somewhat limited because the low amounts of traffic they can generate. For example you have a blog about cars and you post a topic (with a link to your blog)on a car forum about The most expensive car in the world. Sure it will bring visitors but the visitors are limited to the forum’s visitors (even more they are limited to the forum’s category visitors). Same thing about comment. You can drop a comment (with a link) on a forum or site but still visitors are limited. Now things are different about the other methods.
3. Emails. This is has been the first method used to promote things. And it’s still used today. But the problem here is where to find the all needed email addresses. The answer is so simple. We present you the amazing…. GOOGLE. Just use this search querry and you’ll get lists over lists of email addresses: e-mail address filetype:csv csv. Simple and user friendly. There are some other useful google hacks you can also find here.
4. Social bookmarking sites. The best way to do self promotion. Social bookmarking sites get soooo many visitors that they can make your hosting server crash. Submitting to such sites is the best self promotion method ever. And if you make it on to the first page then get your server ready. But there are some thing that people don’t know about this method. There are other ways (evil ones) to use social sites for self promotion.
a) Use comments. Yes it’s so simple. For example: find a popular (many votes) subject that is similar to what you talk about on your site. The second thing you need to do is to check if the chosen topic has few comments (no more than 20). What you do next is leave a comment on that topic and in the comment you use a link to your site (or a site post). You just say something like “yea, that’s a great story but check out this one here“. You link the word here to your site or post and voila… - instant visitors. This works even better that submitting your post because: the post you are commenting on is already famous so it gets more visitors; being in the first 20 comments means you comment is on the first page and is going to be read by others. Here is an example of what i did to prove this works.
b) Use images. Images are great. They attract attention instantly. People love images. So all you need to do is create a new page with just the image on it and link the image to your site. Submit this image to social sites and just wait. What happens here is that a visitor that likes that image is going to vote it and is going to think that the link on that picture is a link to some more great pictures. And what happens next? Hold on to your server - instant visitors again.
The methods we talked about above are lightly to be considered SPAM (the last 2 are very hated). Not officially but still… So be careful when using them because you could get BANNED.
